Summary of Works
Overall Description of Works
Located on a busy London high street, with both a restaurant and residential flats operating within the building, the project required careful planning and coordination to manage access, safety, and disruption to occupants and the public.
The works involved the design, erection and management of specialist access scaffolding to facilitate safe working at height, together with careful cleaning of the masonry using appropriate conservation techniques. Extensive masonry repairs and selective replacement works were undertaken to deteriorated stone and brick elements, alongside the supply, manufacture and installation of replacement terracotta units carefully matched to the existing profiles and finishes.
Additional works included timber repairs to decayed structural and architectural elements, leadwork repairs and renewals carried out in accordance with traditional detailing, and localised repairs and replacement of natural slate roof coverings. The project was completed with the overhaul, repair and redecoration of the existing rainwater goods to ensure their continued performance and effective water management.
