Summary of Works

Overall Description of Works

Islington Square was a major mixed-use redevelopment of the former North London Royal Mail sorting office. We were awarded the masonry package to all four buildings within the development.

The works comprised masonry cleaning using the DOFF steam cleaning system to provide a gentle and effective conservation treatment. Extensive structural adaptations were undertaken to the façades to accommodate revised internal floor levels. The project also required the design and manufacture of bespoke bricks specifically produced for the development, alongside significant areas of brick replacement, including both bespoke and glazed brickwork to match the existing fabric.

In addition, natural stone replacements were designed, supplied and installed to key architectural features, including cills, stringcourses, the grand cornice and coping stones.
