Summary of Works

Overall Description of Works

The works comprised a comprehensive programme of masonry conservation and repair, including DOFF steam cleaning to the masonry façades using appropriate conservation techniques and the selective replacement of deteriorated facing brickwork, carefully matched to the existing in colour, texture and bond.

The project also included the design, supply and installation of new natural stone elements to band courses and cills to replicate the existing profiles, together with structural masonry repairs and strengthening works across the building. Extensive and complex structural repairs were undertaken to pre-cast concrete window heads, alongside the careful dismantling and rebuilding of leaning masonry parapets to restore structural stability and alignment.

New leadwork was installed to stringcourses and flashings in accordance with traditional detailing and best conservation practice, and the rainwater goods were overhauled and redecorated to ensure their continued performance and visual consistency with the historic fabric.

All works were carried out within a busy inner London primary school environment, requiring careful planning and coordination to manage access, safety and logistical challenges while maintaining the day-to-day operation of the school.
