Summary of Works

Overall Description of Works

A busy central London church with significant logistical challenges, including the distribution of over 50 tonnes of new natural stone to the top of the 35 metre high tower. Works included the design and erection of specialist scaffolding with a platform hoist to safely access the tower, together with the design, supply and installation of a new stone tower structure incorporating structural stainless steel and a new stainless steel cross.

Additional works involved the design, supply and installation of new stone turrets, the provision of natural stone indent repairs to the main tower masonry, and structural stabilisation works to the tower.

Conservation and consolidation of historic masonry was undertaken alongside the overhaul and redecoration of rainwater goods, timber repairs to the belfry louvres, restoration of the historic clock faces, installation of a new lightning conductor system, and the installation of discreet and sympathetic bird deterrent systems.
